Introduction
The Gipsy Moth collection of
artifacts is from the legendry Gipsy Moth V
which was shipwrecked in Australia in 1982 on an around the world voyage. The
skipper Desmond Hampton managed to rescue himself so no loss of life took
place. Various items were salvaged from the vessel and those items have
inspired this collection and exhibition. Please enjoy this tribute to Sir
Francis and his remarkable story

This historic collection represents items
formerly used onboard Sir Francis Chichester's Gipsy Moth V and is the only
known collection and exhibition of its kind in the world that will be
available to purchase by Private Treaty. We hope that the items will
benefit one or more of the world's finest museums for permanent display
North or South of the Equator, or a
private collector may wish to purchase it to allow viewing by the public for
future generations.
